Thanks for your interest in joining Oasis Chorale.

Each year as the personnel list for the next Oasis Chorale tour is being formed, choir members from the previous year are given priority. If there are members that decide not to return, the vacant positions are filled from the applications that we receive. The number of vacancies and the number of applications vary in a given year, but we usually receive quite a few more applications than the number of vacant positions that we need to fill. We are looking for applicants that agree with our mission statement, love to sing, are willing to put effort into singing well, and ascribe to Anabaptist belief and practice. There is a level of skill and ability that will be expected, but formal training is not required

Applications are usually available in September or October and a deadline for turning it in is included. The applications are normally processed by the beginning of December and the music is sent out in the beginning of the year. We normally hold a rehearsal in April or May at which time basic pitches and rhythms need to be learned. This is a chance for the choir to start becoming acquainted with each other as individuals and with singing together as a group. It is also a time for new members to become familiar with singing under Wendell as the director. For these reasons we ask that all new member be present at the spring rehearsal. When members report to rehearsal at the beginning of the summer tour, all words and music need to be memorized. Tour usually comes around sooner than expected and prioritizing of time is necessary in order to achieve this level of familiarity with the music.
