I join in the songs...

I join in the songs of Oasis Chorale because I love music, the music-making process, and the opportunity to collaborate with other Christians in worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. The texts of our repertoire embrace core doctrines of Christendom; therefore, learning the music becomes a discovery of new ways to artistically express love for God and beliefs about Him.

The learning process requires much time – to listen, to meditate, to practice until the song sings itself in my voice, heart, soul, and mind. I see this process as worship and as a response to Christ’s command to love Him with all one’s heart, soul, and mind. My life has been enriched through musical experiences with Oasis Chorale.

Charles Ives once said...

Charles Ives once said that, “Beauty in music is too often confused with something that lets the ears lie back in an easy chair.” How true this statement proves to be in a world where we want instant access, but some of the best things in life are worked for and processed slowly. The fruit of such labor and effort is ten times more sweet, and much more enriching.

Oasis wants to cultivate good and thoughtful music for both its singers and its audiences. It calls for reflection and quality, along with blessing and hope. These things are things that we need desperately as humans, which is why I am an Oasis enthusiast.

I have found that involvement in Oasis has become a way for me to grow both artistically and spiritually, but at the same time, equips me to bless other people. It allows a lot of room to grow without self-focus and false piety. While participation requires discipline and diligence, the rewards are phenomenal. There is no greater delight, than knowing you have a small window of time in which to offer blessing, pleasure, and joy to people through music.

Not everybody has the time...

Not everybody has the time to commit seventeen songs to memory. There are a limited amount of years in your life that can be used in choral music ministry.

If you enjoy music and the impact it has on your community, you can still be a part of this work by contributing financially. The cost of tour is made managable because of donors like yourself. Oasis has been a particularly attractive option for me as a student because of the low cost of tour. Your gift is much appreciated.
