I grew up singing practically every morning at the breakfast table as part of family devotions. I learned to harmonize and be able carry another part by myself at a young age. The love of singing carried with me through teen years and various choruses. However, it became more focused during the time I spent singing with FB Chorale under the direction of Brandon Mullet. I realized that if I ever pursued further training I wanted it to be music related.
I studied voice with various teachers over a period of the three years following my time at Faith Builders. Under the teaching of Brenda Witmer, (James Madison University) I began to "find" my voice. She inspired me to think in broader ways about voice and the possibility of studying it more in depth.
At present, I am in my junior year of Vocal Performance at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and perform with Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. David P. DeVenney. I am happy to again be a part of Oasis Chorale. "...He will rejoice over you with singing..." (Zeph 3:17)
